Platform and region support guide
Use this table to guide your checks; it is not a list of verified playback results. Available service information does not include platform-by-platform or region-by-region access tests, so every entry is marked as unverified. Regional notes point to platform availability and account rules to check. Always refer to the platform’s current terms, account page and actual playback results.
Suggested routes are a way to choose what to test, not a promise that a particular region is available. Check the route page or client to confirm that a route for your target region is available, then test an option. For a specific title, check the catalog, open its details page and try playback separately. Finding a title only confirms that it appears in the catalog, not that playback is authorized.
| Platform | Region to check | Support status | Suggested route and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netflix | Region where the title is offered | Unverified; no regional playback tests provided | Available route for the target region; check the catalog and playback |
| Disney+ | Regions currently available for the account and platform | Unverified; no regional playback tests provided | Route matching an eligible region; check account eligibility |
| HBO Max | Local service access and content licensing region | Unverified; no regional playback tests provided | Confirm the local brand’s service first, then test a route for that region |
| Hulu | US service eligibility; distinguish between services with the same name | Unverified; US route playback is not guaranteed | Test if a route for that region is available; also check household location rules |
| YouTube Premium | Membership region and current region of use | Unverified; membership eligibility must be checked separately | Prefer the account’s usual region and check the membership benefits page |
| Prime Video | Account store region and title licensing region | Unverified; no regional playback tests provided | Check store and travel rules, then test a route for the relevant region |
| BBC iPlayer | UK service eligibility and local usage rules | Unverified; UK route playback is not guaranteed | Check if a route for that region is available; platform eligibility requirements still apply |
What does streaming access actually involve?
“Access” generally means a platform allows you to view or play content licensed for a region, based on your connection’s exit location, account details and other signals. It does not remove copyright protection or include a streaming membership, paid channel or rental entitlement. Content that requires a separate payment is still subject to your platform account and order.
Your network exit location is only one factor. A platform may also consider the region where the account was created, payment details, device location permissions, household settings and past usage. Switching routes can change your network path, but it won’t automatically change these account details. If your account isn’t eligible for the service, trying more exit locations may not help.
For a useful check, keep the device, account and title the same, and change only the route. Note the original message, connect through the target exit location, reopen the app and try playback again. A successful test reflects conditions at that time. Results can change if the platform updates its detection methods, content rights change or the exit location is reclassified.
Follow local laws and the platform’s terms of service. Regional prompts are not a reason to change account details, and changing your subscription region or payment details just to clear a prompt is not recommended. Confirm what your account allows, then troubleshoot the connection; this is usually more useful than repeatedly switching regions.
Native IPs and residential IPs
- Native IP: a regional classification
- This usually describes an address whose registration, routing and geolocation are broadly consistent with the target region. There is no single standard for the term, and different databases may report different locations. A “native” label alone cannot tell you whether playback will work.
- Residential IP: a connection type
- This usually means an address identified as a residential broadband connection, emphasizing its network use or provider classification. Residential status and regional location are separate attributes; neither guarantees account eligibility, content rights or platform acceptance.
A data center address may still be correctly identified as belonging to the target region, while a residential address may face restrictions due to shared use, past activity or database changes. Treat address labels as secondary to playback results: check whether the region is identified correctly, whether the title plays and whether playback remains stable.
Available YGVPN service information does not specify whether individual routes use native or residential IPs, so this page does not label routes that way. IEPL, relay and direct connection describe network paths; they do not indicate a residential connection or guarantee streaming access.
4K and Dolby Vision playback requirements
HD playback needs sustained, stable throughput—not just a high download speed in a speed test. Bandwidth needs vary with the 4K video’s encoding, compression, visual complexity and platform settings. This page does not set an unsupported universal bandwidth threshold. Check the platform’s current quality guidance and assess the picture quality, buffering and interruptions during playback.
Dolby Vision depends on the video format and the capabilities of your device setup; it is not a network feature that becomes available just because a route is fast enough. The title, membership tier, app, display and connection method must all meet the platform’s requirements. If standard quality plays smoothly but the Dolby Vision badge is missing, check content and device compatibility before assuming the exit location is the problem.
Before testing, pause bandwidth-heavy tasks on other devices, choose a title and keep it playing for a while. If quality increases and then remains stable, your current setup can sustain that stream. If quality repeatedly drops, investigate local Wi-Fi interference, household network congestion and fluctuations on the international route separately. Compare wired and wireless connections on the same device to avoid mistaking a local issue for a remote route problem.
Keep data limits in mind, too. Monthly plans include ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Video quality, viewing time and background tasks all affect usage. Don’t choose a plan based on price alone, and remember that unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data.
Common errors and troubleshooting steps
Platforms, devices and app versions may show different error codes for similar issues. Keep the full code and original message; they’re more useful than simply saying the app won’t open. The steps below are organized by error type, not as definitive explanations of specific codes. Check the platform’s current help pages for the latest details.
“Proxy detected” or “Please turn off your VPN”
These messages usually mean the platform has flagged the current exit location or connection environment, not that your internet connection is completely down. Check the client’s connection status and confirm that the streaming app is using the expected route. Close and reopen the app, then test another available route in the target region.
If the same message appears after switching routes, note the platform, region, route name and full error, then report it through a support ticket in the user panel. Don’t keep trying routes based only on their region labels, and don’t assume a temporary success will last.
“This content isn’t available in your region”
First check whether the entire platform is unavailable or only the title you want to watch. The issue may be due to content licensing, your account region or the title being removed. Try other titles on the same platform, then confirm that the specific title is currently in that region’s catalog.
If the platform detects a different region than expected, check the exit location and clear the app cache. If the region is correct but playback still fails, check account eligibility and content rights rather than repeatedly switching routes.
“Unable to connect to the service” or constant buffering
First check whether regular websites load, then see if the platform has reported a service outage. If the platform opens but video buffers, the issue may involve the playback stream, your home network or sustained throughput. Lowering the video quality can help distinguish a connection issue from an account restriction.
Pause background downloads and compare another route using the same title. If switching your network connection resolves the issue, troubleshoot your local network first. Don’t change your account, device and region at the same time, or it will be hard to tell what made a difference.
“Device not supported” or HD formats unavailable
Check for app updates, browser compatibility, membership tier and device playback capabilities. Content protection components, display connections and video formats can all affect maximum quality. These issues usually require checking the device setup; changing routes alone cannot add missing device capabilities.
Account, household location or payment region mismatch
These messages usually concern platform account rules. Check your subscription status and account page, then follow the platform’s guidance for household location or payment details. A route cannot replace account verification or change your current membership eligibility. Don’t change your account region just to test playback.
Choose a route for your viewing needs
If you follow a series or have a regular watchlist, start by identifying the region where the content is available, then test the routes actually offered for that region. For everyday viewing that doesn’t depend on a specific catalog, keep the account’s usual environment and compare playback stability for the same title. A more distant region doesn’t mean a larger catalog, and route labels are no substitute for testing.
If performance varies in the evening, track the same title at your usual viewing times and compare other available routes. The differences between IEPL, relay and direct connections depend on the specific network path; without test results, there’s no basis for a fixed speed ranking. For a deeper look at licensing, account regions and troubleshooting, read the streaming guide.
YGVPN supports unlimited simultaneous devices and Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux for multi-device viewing. Each device is still subject to the platform’s own account and playback rules. Get the client from the user panel; subscription details are available after signing in. No email address is required—create an account with a username and password.
If your viewing schedule varies, consider data plans that remain available until used and never expire: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB. Choose based on your actual usage. When you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Payment methods include Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT, with a 7-day refund policy. See the plans page and terms of service for full details.
Compare routes and data plans
First check which routes are available for your target region, then compare monthly plans with data packages. Verify each step; regional coverage does not guarantee playback.
